The FEFCO coding system

The FEFCO coding system, intended to determine packaging shapes, is the most standard way of selecting corrugated packaging. In 1952, an association for the promotion of corrugated cardboard and packaging materials was founded in Brussels. FEFCO’s mission is to promote the common interests of its members throughout Europe and to improve the image of the corrugated industry. FEFCO provides a variety of services, useful information and technical expertise to facilitate the work of its member companies. Publications of annual statistics are published annually and are available on their website:

The page also has a catalog of Fefco codes, which makes it easier to find the appropriate type of packaging.

The most common type for transport packaging is Fefco 0201 and 0427 for E-commerce.
